
Plant Identification Beginner Botany Series
Learn foundational skills of plant identification through both scientific and relational ways of knowing
This sepcial opportunity , made possible through the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism in Lafayette, is for those who wish to learn the foundational aspects of plant identification and more about the variety of ecosystems of the Front Range that create tremendous plant diversity. Through sharpening one’s observation skills and awareness, learning to recognize plant family and ecosystem patterns, and building relationship(s) with the plants and the land, participants will gain confidence in being able to recognize local plants, know whether a plant is edible and/or medicinal and how to best utilize them.
Each class will be an occasion to slow down, attune to our animal senses, learn basic botanical terminology, practice skills of keen observation and delight in deepening into relationship with our beloved green allies.
Series #1: June 10th, 5-8pm and June 14th, 10am-2pm (Boulder Foothills)
Series #2: July 9th, 5-8pm and July 12th, 10am-2pm (Subalpine Forest and Meadows west of Boulder)

*Please Note*: For series #2, participants must have a fitness level enabling them to walk approximately 2 miles at elevations up to 10,000' with ease and minimal discomfort. Total elevation gain will be ~500-1,000’
